Seven Red Tears

The story

As Holy Week approaches, a statue of Our Lady of the Rosary is found weeping blood in El Palo. When the phenomenon spreads, the Vatican sends Elías, a Jesuit from Málaga who has spent three decades away from his home city.

With police commissioner Javier López and journalist Micaela, Elías searches for an explanation among the crowds of believers. Their investigation links the present to the burning of convents and to lives shaped by the Spanish Civil War. Beneath the apparent miracle, old wounds remain unhealed.

Málaga is more than a setting: its geography, traditions and historical conflicts shape the story. The novel unfolds from the Friday before Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday.
